
JUAN CANFIELD. Sculptor PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES:
2009 Designs and constructs 6 sculptures of bronze, representing the Black Panther, like part of the fundamental symbolism of the institutional identity of Metropolitan Independent University UAM. These Monumental sculptures, settle in each one of the academic units and one of them in the building of the General Rectory.
2009 Constructs sculpture of bronze and stone for the Industry of the Radio of the Valley of Mexico IRVM.
2009 Designs and constructs an original sculpture of bronze and stone, for the National Institute of Public Health, specifically for the Research center of Population Health, Cuernavaca Morelos Mexico.
2009 Constructs a bronze monument of 3 MTS. of height to the Mexican liberator Miguel Hidalgo, for the Plaza Hidalgo, of the city of Tejupilco in the State of Mexico. City in which Miguel Hidalgo‘s father was born.
2009 January, Constructs the bronze bust of " Tlalpan Forest Protector ", " Don Carlos Ponce Vargas" for the own Forest of Tlalpan, and also, the bronze Bust of " DR. Guillermo Carvajal Sandoval" for the Institute of Biological Sciences of the National Polytechnical Institute IPN.
2008 Designs different original projects from sculptural production for instances like: The Mexican School of Oil Engineers, the Technological of Monterrey, the National Program Opportunities, the “Modelo Group”, The Metropolitan Independent University, Metropolitan Delegations and State Governments.
2008 October, Constructs sculpture of bronze and Stone for the Mexican Council of Foreign trade.
2008 5 of June, Participate like sculptor in the celebration of the world –wide day of the environment of the Metropolitan Independent University. In the event it is exhibited the original video " Construction of the bronze monument " Jaguar con cría”
2008 Finalist of Landscape Sculpture Designs Contest, organized by the Beijing 2008 Olimpic Games. 2008 Creation and building of a bronze bust of Ing. Javier Rodriguez E., General Director "Tecno Farma " Laboratories. Mexico City. 2007 Creation and building of a bronze bust of Mr Isidro Ramirez N., for the organization of “People from Oaxaca” in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico. 2007 Creation and building of a bronze bust of Dr. Rogelio Díaz Guerrero, for the Library of the Psychology Faculty of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, Mexico City 2007 Engaged by the UNIVERSAL FORUM OF CULTURES OF MONTERREY, and by the theatre group LINE OF SHADOW, designing and building a giant kinetic marionette called LUCA, a 14 years old boy 7.5 m. height. Monterrey, Mexico 2007 Engaged by the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) and the Fauna National Council (CNF), building of a monumental sculpture “Hembra jaguar con cría”. It is located in the “Biome” of tropical forests of the Chapultepec Zoo, under de celebration of the world day of environment. 2006 Creation and building of a sculpture “Jesús Resucitado” for the central altarpiece of the San Pablo Church at Ballester, Buenos Aires, Argentina 2006 Original sculptural Project “1ra. Plataforma, la Familia” selected by the Olympic Committee of Beijing, China, (2008 Olympic Landscape Sculpture Designs Competition) to be exhibited in different cities in China, starting in Peking in June 2006. Nowadays this art exhibit has been presented in New Zealand and London, being now in the status of finalist. 2006 Within the Conventions of the pharmaceutical company Lilly, organizing of sculpture workshops for medical doctors in different Mexican cities, such as Taxco, Guerrero; Guanajuato, Guanajuato; Avandaro, Michoacán; Monterrey, Nuevo León; Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco; Marabatio, Michoacan; y Bahias de Huatulco, Oaxaca. 2006 Creation and building of a sculpture melted in bronze and marble, symbol of “GROUP DESC”, Santa Fe, Mexico City. 2005 Design, modeling and melting in bronze of the symbol of the Bajio Foreign Commerce Council from the Region of Bajio, León, Guanajuato, Mexico 2004 Creation and building of a sculpture in stone; symbol of the arquitectural complex 5 stars “"Playa Mar Diamante", by means of "Grupo Reforma", Acapulco Guerrero. 2004 Creation and building of a monumental sculpture in bronze “Family from Tamaulipas”, for the Zoo Park Tamatan, Tamaulipas, Mexico, sponsored by the Institute for Culture and Arts from Tamaulipas, by means of the Fauna National Council . 2004 Creation and building of a monumental sculpture in bronze “ Panda Gigante” for the Zoo of Chapultepec, Mexico City, sponsored by Ericsson enterprise, by means of the Fauna National Council 2003 Art exhibit “Body graphics” UPX, Old College of San Ildefonso, Historical Centre, Mexico City. 2003 Creation and building of a monumental sculpture "Mujer Embarazada y Ultrasonido”. Old College of San Ildefonso, Historical Centre, Mexico City. 2003 Creation and building of a monumental sculpture in bronze of a Gorilla of Low Lands, sponsored by the Petroleum Company, by means of the Fauna National Council, located in the Chapultepec Zoo. 2003 Creation and building of a monumental sculpture in bronze of a Black Rhinoceros, inaugurated June 4th, World Day of Environment, at the Chapultepec Zoo, sponsored by Unilever, by means of the Fauna National Council. This piece has become Nation’s cultural patrimony. 2002 I was invited to participate within the Program of support for the Art crafts Design (PROADA) of the National Council for Culture and Arts, by means of the National Museum of Popular Cultures, to work during a period of two months in Tlaxcala, particularly in the community of Terrenate, where I gave a successful Design of Reproduction Process and Serial Production Seminar. 2001 As a first experience in PROADA, and again by means of the National Museum of Popular Cultures, I worked during two months in Huatabampo, Sonora, Mexico, giving a workshop /seminar on Design and Performance of Production Process and Serial Production for a previously selected group, presenting up to date positive results in local economy. 2001 Start into the Support to Art crafts Design Program (PROADA) from CONACULTA, as designer and specialized teacher. 2001 Performance of the urban monument in bronze 6 m height “A la mujer, justicia” for Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and El Paso, Texas, USA 2000 Creation and building of a bronze sculpture “El hombre mirando las estrellas” for the permanent collection of the International Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland, as per request of Marquis of Samaranch, Mr Juan Antonio Samaranch (Whilst he was President of the International Olympic Committee) 1999 Creation and modelling of the relief portrait of Mr Nemesio Diez for “MODELO GROUP” 1999 Building of a monumental sculpture 2.5 m. height, representing the symbol of Group Modelo, which has been reproduced for several distribution plants of the group (Modelo Brewery) 1998 Creation and building of a collection of moving bars for “Vodka Absolut” 1998 Creation and building of a sculpture for the night club "LA VICTORIA" Mexico City. 1997 Design and production of the night club «JELLY BELLY».
