Mexican Sculptors
Sculptor: Juan Carlos Canfield Zapata.
To make a little abstraction of the urban reality, of environmental pollution, of all themes related to corruption and insecurity is fair. It is vital.
I search this among the walls of my workshop (until I have one with no walls), concentrated in the abstract of building something right.
And indeed… to make sculptures mean to me an introspection and productivity act. It is simply another way to say something. Work involves time with space; sculpture involves time and involves space.
Every start is always a challenge, and above all, is a great opportunity to say something in a better way than what has properly been said before.
Juan Carlos is from the City of Mexico, he was born in a 7th may of 70. He is of a childhood of wax and smelting, in the environment where the sculpture was a game and a hobby, the metaphor of a free life style and as it was in the 70’s, nowadays sculpture is with no metaphors, the everyday work.
